Japan Grand Prix, the race

September 30, 2007

Jean Todt: "It 'been a disputed race in extreme weather conditions, which would have required a start behind the safety car and his stay on track for a good 19 laps.
Raikkonen Fuji 2007
In light of weather forecasts in our possession, we had chosen to start with the standard wet tire, but after a few laps, we were informed of a decision by the jury of the race which required the use of extreme wet tyres.

The team had not been informed, and only after the race, we made sure was sent an email to Stefano Domenicali in a time back at the beginning of the race. We were amazed and we had no choice but to ask the pilots to return to the pits changing tires. From that moment our goal was to try to recover as much as possible the ground lost in a way that leaves us a little 'perplexed. After a good comeback, both pilots were able to enter the points, Kimi until the third step of the podium. It 'clear that, given the result, the situation in the Drivers' championship is compromised: the only Kimi remained in the running. We would like a miracle: what is certain is that we will do our utmost to win the last two races of the World. "

Kimi Raikkonen: "We have ongoing visibility virtually non-existent: the hardest thing was knowing where were the other pilots and what they were. My race was ruined by the forced pit stop to the third round: we had chosen to start with the standard wet tire but we do not ever if this decision would have borne fruit. Once finished at the bottom of the group have tried to do our best to reassemble all things considered, the third place is not a result to be throwing away. I made several overtaking, always in very difficult conditions. We had an attitude perhaps more competitive for a dry track but the car was very fast and I lost some time for this choice. It 'clear that the situation in the championship is much more difficult, however, give the maximum until the end of the season, as always. "

Felipe Massa: "The result of this match determines the end of my chance to fight for the title but during learning championship, I believe that he was still competitive. Unfortunately, in certain occasions there was no accountability, which has cost me valuable points. Regarding the race today, I knew that, given the standings, could take risks with a choice of tires on departure other than our opponents but it was not the right one, beyond what has happened with the decision of the Jury unknown to us, which is still serious. Then I tried to do my best. I rose to the top positions but I had to return to the box because I did not have enough gasoline to get to the end. The duel with Kubica won the last lap was the most beautiful moment of this race. "

Luca Baldisserri: "Our race was ruined by the stop where they were forced both drivers to switch from standard wet tyres from those to be wet extreme, determined by a decision of the jury that we were not aware. We chose to start with those tires because we were behind the safety car and because we thought that weather conditions would be improved. After completing the bottom of the group, we tried to salvage. Pilots have both a beautiful race, in terms of visibility virtually nothing because they were always behind other cars. The machines, despite a structure oriented towards the dry, have behaved well. "

Kimi Raikkonen: 3 ° + 9,478 67 laps chassis 262
Felipe Massa: 6 ° + 49,042 67 laps chassis 263

Yamaha brilla in Superpole: Corser secondo, Haga quinto

Settembre 30, 2007

Bayliss (Aus-Ducati) 1′35″890 media 154,302 km/h; 2. Corser (Aus-Yamaha) 1′36″016; 3. Xaus (Spa-Ducati) 1′36″737; 4. Biaggi (Ita-Suzuki) 1′36″925; 5. Haga (Gia-Yamaha) 1′36″996; 6. Lanzi (Ita-Ducati) 1′37″428; 7. Fabrizio (Ita-Honda) 1′37″430; 8. Toseland (GB-Honda) senza tempo; 9. Rolfo (Ita-Honda) 1′37″589; 10. Nakatomi (Gia-Yamaha) 1′37″775; .

Sesta Superpole dell’anno per Bayliss a Vallelunga

Settembre 29, 2007

I Tempi : 1. Bayliss (Ducati Xerox) 1′35.890; 2. Corser (Yamaha) 1′36.016; 3. Xaus (Ducati) 1′36.737; 4. Biaggi (Suzuki) 1′36.925; 5. Haga (Yamaha) 1′36.996; 6. Lanzi (Ducati Xerox) 1′37.428; 7. Fabrizio (Honda) 1′37.430; 8. Toseland (Honda) 1′37.371; 9. Rolfo (Honda) 1′37.589; 10. Nakatomi (Yamaha) 1′37.775.

Così in TV (Italia) : La7 - domenica 11.35 gara 1 (diretta), 15.20 Superbike gara 2 (diretta). 17.30 RaiDue - gara 1 + 2 (sintesi). (Europa): Eurosport 2 - domenica 10.30 Superstock 1000 (diretta), 14.30 Superbike gara 1 (differita), 15.30 Superbike gara 2 (diretta).

A Bayliss la Superpole di Vallelunga, Biaggi in agguato

Settembre 29, 2007

Segue Bayliss a – 79 punti.

I tempi :

1) 21 Bayliss T. (AUS) Ducati 999 F07 1′35.890
2) 11 Corser T. (AUS) Yamaha YZF-R1 1′36.016
